Audrey’s Honey Chicken

Prep Time: 10 minutes Cook Time: 45 minutes Total: 55 minutes Total Servings: 8

Ingredients

  • 2 kg bone in chicken thighs and drumsticks 
  • 1 c. all purpose flour (Replace ½ c. for panko crumbs for extra crunch)
  • 1 Tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp seasoning salt 
  • 1 tsp dried parsley
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 ½ c honey
  • 1 onion

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 425F
  2. Thinly slice onion and spread at the bottom of an oven safe baking dish
  3. Mix flour/panko with seasonings in a large Ziplock bag
  4. Add chicken to the bag 4-5 pieces at a time, close and shake to coat the chicken.
  5. Place the chicken in the baking dish in a single layer.  
  6. Repeat for all pieces of chicken.  
  7. Bake for 20 minutes.  
  8. Lower temperature to 400 and turn chicken.  Bake for another 15 minutes.
  9. Drizzle honey over the chicken, and return to the oven for another 10 minutes.  
  10.  Remove the chicken from the oven, baste with the honey, and allow it to rest for 10 minutes before serving.
